Bigby woke up with a strange sensation. He lost his sense of smell, but it was as if he could taste the air.
After I finished the bookcover for “The Call Of Cthulhu”, I noticed that there have been lots of artists drawing and painting tentacles as of late; some with stripes, some with interesting textures and some with suckers. I prefer the ones with out the suckers.

tentacles are fun to draw, plus I think cephalopods hold a unique fascination because of their intelligence and diversity/ adaptive skills
Wrong! Suckers 4-ever! Sucker.
Uh, . . . I didn’t say that they were bad, I just don’t prefer them and think they are overused. I have been looking at the tentacles from jellyfish and the like more recently, . . . they seem more mysterious and worm-like to me. Just to set the record straight, I am fond of cephalopods. I have always been fascinated with giant squid, cuttlefish, octopus, with their advanced chromatophores, etc, . . . Just not interested in painting them.
There’s room in the world for all sorts of tentacles. Um, except the ones on the star-nosed mole. Those are just not okay.
Anyway, Bigby’s tentacles are for sure very awesome. I kind of love him.
cephalopods are inspiring creatures.
Love this post Travis.
